Features-viducUlcerative colitis is a chronic inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) consisting of fine ulcerations in the inner mucosal lining of the large intestine. Symptoms include diarrhea, rectal bleeding, and severe abdominal pain. Currently, Canada has the highest prevalence and incidence yet reported in the world, with approximately 104,000 diagnosed individuals.
