Donations

How do my donations help?

Your gifts help the GI Society increase awareness, provide education, and fund medical research regarding gastrointestinal diseases and disorders.

We need your ongoing support to continue to help the millions of Canadians who live with gastrointestinal disease and disorders and for those who want to maintain a healthy digestive tract. You can rest assured that we have the continuity of skilled personnel and outstanding intellectual property from the long-standing Canadian Society of Intestinal Research, established in 1976, behind all of our initiatives.

The GI Society guards donor dollars rigorously, ensuring maximum yield. We are frugal and efficient, spending far less than the National charitable average on governance and administration. Your donations help to support:

  • High-quality, up-to-date printed information and educational materials for patients and their families, and for healthcare professionals
  • BadGut® Lectures throughout Canada
  • Medical research
  • Advocacy - we use our informed influence to encourage governments to put digestive health on the political agenda and implement policies that will improve the lives of persons with gastrointestinal disease and disorders
